TRAINING DAY.

That's what I've decided this weekend will be. Its funny how after you do a 25k or do a 108 mile week on the bike you get a big head about things. So I figure this won't be any worse! And don't they always say what doesn't kill you will only make you stronger? That's the whole point, gaining mental and physical strength. Gaining back my confidence. Looking at triathlon for what it is to me--a workout with lots of other people; learning how to pace myself again; figuring out what works and what doesn't; seeing how far and how hard I can push myself, or whether I can't on a particular day. Not worrying about being slow or last, because according to Phoenix's instructions, we need to stop saying we are slow! Because she's right: we may be slower than someone else, but we are definitely faster than someone sitting home on the couch. As for being last? It happens. Someone is going to be first, and someone is going to be last. While I would like it to not always be me, I figure the numbers are in my favor: the more times I show up and do this thing called triathlon, the more chances I have to move up from last place.

So wish me luck, and I'll give a report after I'm done!
